Default This Is A Tough Question Can Anybody Figure This One Out.

O.k here's the question. My friend has a Dell laptop and wants to load a new operating system on it because the last HD crashed. Now The dell laptop has No Cd rom, No Floppy and booting from a USB port is not an Option In the Bios. So what Now? How does he load the operating system? He wants to load Windows XP.

It will depend on how much you like your friend

If he's a good friend, have a look here :

It will take time, but should work.

Tell your friend to either get a CD/DVD drive for the laptop or buy a new laptop.

If the drives and/or BIOS are password protected and he doesn't have the password, it's a different story.

You can buy an external cdrom drive, floppy drive, etc.

To install over a network you need to have a PXE server or Ghost Multicast server set up on another PC. It is a valid alternative but is not the easiest thing to setup

Oh and the laptop bios also needs to support it
