Default remove shortcut arrow windows 7 ultimate64bit

Is there a way to do this?
Looked on google just confused myself.

Tried the above using regedit it did indeed remove the arrow alas it changed all the icons as well to placeholders.

edit, just downloaded it from another source and get the following error.

Try the version on Softpedia ..... i think it's a newer version.

Alas no better, same error and after a reboot the bloody arrows are still there.

Silly question maybe, but did you undo your Regedit changes?

no such thing as a silly question. yes i did.
i had downloaded a different version of the overlay remover before i even asked here, got the same error then as well.
the regedit version did remove the arrows as mentioned above but not really a success.

Hmmmmm. not sure why, as vers.2.0 is supposed to be W7 x64 compatible.

I did find this alternative on youtube, which seems a bit long winded, but appears to work.
