issues with LG burner and verbatims discs ?

verbatim dvd-rx16 MCC 03 rg20 dye
LG dvd rewriter GH22NP20

have burnt a few films @4x and 8x and they have skipped and jumped , burnt a couple @12x and theyve been better still with the odd pixelation here and there though
firmware on the burner is up to date , no problems with other branded discs ,anyone any ideas ?

Are you verifying the burns to at least determine for sure that it is the burner/media and not the player or encoder software?

will try another one and verify it (using imageburn ), tried the discs on two players here and still the same , also have films done by someone else on same media and they skip and pixelate too
have a pack of TDK 16x discs and they are perfect on playback
