Help.. Whats happeded now?

My xbox is softmodded(no chip) with evolutionx and the pheonix loader.I used the mech-assult hack.
Yesterday I was quite happly backing up my games, I had finnished for the night and I wanted to carry on this morning.

This morning I tried to carry on but I cant get ftped to my xbox, I dont know why. I havent changed anything. I have checked all the ip addys and they seem fine. I have tried ace ftp and qwix but niether will connect. Xp is telling me there is a connection.

Qwix is telling me that there is a connection error or connect timed out.

Backups still play.

I dunno, do any of you.

I must add that I am very new to all of this so if you can help please keep it simple:wavey:

what dash are using- does that say that there is connection?

have you accidently changed from dhcp to static or vice versa?

Dash is ( i guess) evolutionx 1.8.3752
FTP- Enable-Yes

Well if the addy is the same and you have all set up correctly with your ftp, then try reset your switch/hub if using one or try another cable. (crossover or not) Maybe even try rebooting both the pc and the xbox.

I dont have a hub. I have 2 lan cards, but they are both set with different ips. Tried shutting down and re-starting....No go still though.

So you are using a crossover cable. Make sure to double check the addy and subnet mask is correct. It could be a bad card in your pc or bad cable.

So to be sure I am on the right rack here, your xbox is booted to the evox dash and no connection? no game playing or movie playing while doing this? You could try using the mechassualt or 007 disc again and load the game save and see if will connect that way.

Backups work fine, I just cant get connected. I tried a new crossover cable with no luck

Just put a new lan card in ...Still cant connect

get evox 3935- rename the .xbe to default.xbe, edit the ini to get your network settings correct- xiso it up burn it to cd and see if you can boot to evox and ftp in from the new evox on the cd/dvd

Basically, you can put evox on a cdrw or dvdr and boot from the disc. But to play off a disc you need to change the .xbe to default.xbe so it will boot.

Stii not a 100% with you, still learning all this stuff. I understand getting the file and burning it but not .xbe to default.xbe bit.

Anyways I had a guy helping me on xbox-scene and Im sorted, basicly I had to change all my ips ( xbox and pc). Still dont know why it was ok last night but not today.
