I've noticed while browsing this forum on the status bar it says WYSIWYG Editor initialised for Internet Explorer
I've been told it means What You See Is What You Get
Is this normal and is it harmful?
Its the default text editor for vb3 You can change it in your usercp.

Yep just means you can post messages in this format ala MS Word instead of having to use vB code and type say [B] for bold etc. You just click on the correct button on the toolbar to format any text.

Yup, it's kind of cool when your pasting as well, since the formatting transfers over.
Freaked me out the first time I did it.

Well, we really don't need a spell checker because............and I quote......
"Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer
In waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny imrpoetnt tihng is that frist and lsat ltteer is at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by it slef but the wrod as a wlohe."

Just goes to show that the majority of research going on in universities is a complete load of blocloks :)

HtmlArea (free WYSIWYG editor) v3.x Beta has a spell checker, supposedly works quite well. Could easily be added to any vBB but would you be nearly as amused by some of the posts if it were in use? ;)
