Ok system works gave me the your virus def's have expired message so based all your reviews/feedback decided to give f-secure a go- but got a few questions regarding replacing some of systemworks other functions (other than anti-virus) and a wierd error that i've encountered with zone alarm pro

First off thanks Lazza & Co. for recommending F-Secure http://dvdrom-guide.com/forums/images/smilies/t_up.gif

Already found some crap that systemworks hadn't and it seems that it isn't the same resource hog either.

One thing I noticed is that Zone alarm is spazzing out with F-Secure installed. Hows the "internet shield" element of f-secure? (doesn't seem to have the flexibility of zone alarm).

I used to be able to set "trusted" networks in Zonealarm (Home and Uni networks) plus trused ip addresses- I often VNC into my home desktop from uni- and have to tell ZA at home that my uni ip is "trusted".

I can't seem to work out if i can do that in F-Secure?

I assume running F-Secure and ZA together would cause conflicts right?- one may allow something and the other doesn't?

Anyone actually get ZA working with F-Secure and if so do you let ZA do handle the firewall duties?

Oh yeah, and secondly the systemworks i had, had Roxio Go-Back as an imaging prog. What do you guys recommend as an imaging software- should i go for the new ghost, or is there something else thats a little better?

ok i've tried all morning to get zone-alram working with f-secure and i can't get it to work. I know what the problem is (F-sceure can't load- just crashes- with the "vsdatant driver" that zonealarm installs, and the truevector engine for zonealarm to work can't work without that driver), and but I just can't get the remedy to work http://dvdrom-guide.com/forums/images/smilies/bawling.gif

What do you F-Secure users for firewall? (Using F-Secure Avtivirus Client Security- V5.52) Is the Internet shield component ok? Can you configure it to allow certain "trusted" ip's to connect to certain ports?- Need to VNC (Remote destop) from uni laptop to home desktop

Don't know as I don't use it, I use the corporate workstation v5.42 which does not have a firewall. I use Sygate Pro which has never let me down after several years of use and has never clashed with anything yet. I hear the firewall part of that soft is OK though.

ZAP does seem to clash with a number of things.
