Speakers query

I recently bought some creative inspire 5.1 speakers, now they are really good but they seem to have some hissing when it's turned up over say medium volume, obviously you don't notice this when songs are playing but when nothing is playing you do and especially when wearing headphones and when volume is full blast when I test it it's really noticeable, just wondering, is this normal?

Yes, most computer speakers are that way. The only really solid ones that I have seen are the THX rated Logitech setups. They are pretty expensive though. About $120USD for a 2.1 speaker setup. Of course then again, pretty much any stereo setup isn't going to give you the best sound quality once you crank it up over half way. BTW these are the setups that I am talking about. Pretty expensive but when you take a look at the customer ratings, you can see that they are well worth the money:
