Hard drive problem

can anyone help
i have just noticed one of my hard drive arent workinh properly
i have one hard drive as prim master and the other as sec slave
i have my dvd writer as sec master and cdrw as pri slave
the problem i get is
when burn a film from second hgard drive its takes longer
now it is not burning the whole film and get message

"windows- delayed write error"
windows unable to save data on g:/
etc
when i look in folders they are still there
is my hard drive on the way out or is it a software problem
there no problem when copying from main harddrive

How much free space is left on that drive?

its a 80gb and there about 30 gig left

Not certain this will work but worth trying :

Double-click on My Computer...right click on the sec slave drive, select Properties, and uncheck the box "Allow Indexiing Service to index this disk for fast file searching" then click "apply" and click OK.
