Hi
GRAM77OK it does go quiet now and again on here, hopefully not everyone has gone for good as there are some good issues on here normaly.
Not sure you will find my post interesting but I am at present looking into wincdg and different karaoke file formats, have to be honest and havent got far yet as so much is going on at the moment.
I dont do gigs like yourself, the most I will do is house parties, at home I have a small pc running my karaoke and mp3 music files. I dont use host software as such, havent really got used to any yet, I just have two bits of software going through 2 sound cards, as it works resonably well I am now building my own flight case, to house a pc base unit mixer and a seperate mic mixer. I am sure you might be thinking its an odd way to go, but most of the bits I already had and others were donated , as cost/money is a big issue, I havent got much.
I do have some concerns that once altogether it might be a bit heavy, but at the end of the day it is a project to see if it will work and if I can lift it and it does work, I'll be happy. I guess the easiest solution is laptops or a shuttle unit but as said cant afford them, working on the av panel and power socket at the moment and looking around for flight box fittings, Maplins seem abit expensive, although are convenient.

Hi, i run three systems with wincdg2 and find them very simple indeed run although the key change leaves a lot to be desired. The only problem i have found is the initial set up playlist to match the tracks in the book as all the tracks are loaded numerically. It is quick loading and simple to use. If anyoine wants help in setting up playlists please dont hesitate to contact me. Rab, drop me a line as i may be able to help you in your quest. Haven't heard from you in some time

ive actually got about 6,000 tracks on 6 dvds in kmf format here , i tried to use them on my laptop , but as someone has pointed out everything has to match up or your buggered ..

great selection too....but my laptop keeps blinking (screen) when i run kmf ? thats why i dont use them

great idea though kmf is one single file

wincdgpro .

hi, with regards to winpro i can only tell you my experiences with it. Firstly, the problem with the flickering screen is that the video card in the laptop is not up to the job. If you minimise to 1x 2x or 3x you will eliminate the problem but will not have full screen play. I an old have time running win pro and i had someone update video drivers which solved the problem. the other two laptops have nvidia and radeon cards which cope with it easily. The win pro makes a playlist which is in notepad. This can be altered using the replace function for the drive path if you are using external drive. I would imagine the files you are using have originated from one scource and if you want a playlist up to track number 4700 please let me know. All the other files i have added are mp3g. these are added using add directory on task bar. This then loads the files you choose at the end of the existing playlist but you have to note the numbers for your books. once you have loaded all necessary files you save playlist, under preferences tick the " last playlist in use " and next time you load up the tracks will be in the correct order. i can send anyone access file up to 4700 if they wish but it is only of any use if my tracks are the same as yours. Hope this helps and would be pleased to answer any more questions
