Try this - I found it a while ago when a mate had the same problem with a Tosh (Don't think it was the same model tho)
This is what you need:
1. Your notebook
2. An empty formatted diskette (720 kb or 1,44 mb)
3. A second computer (e.g. a DOS desktop PC)
4. A hex-editor (e.g. Norton DiskEdit or HexWorks)
This is what you have to do:
1. Start the desktop PC and start the hex-editor
2. Put the disk in drive A:
3. Change the first five bytes of sector 2 (boot sector is sector 1) to: 4B 45 59 00 00
4. Save it! Now you have a KEYDISK
5. Remove the disk from drive A:
6. Put the disk in the notebook drive
7. Start the notebook in Boot Mode (push the reset button)
8. Press Enter when asked for Password:
9. You will be asked to Set Password again. Press Y and Enter.
10. You now see the BIOS configuration where you can set a new password.
And that's all !!!!!!!!!!!!
ps
I take no responsibility if it goes wrong - like I said, it worked for me.

I seem to remember having this problem a while back with an old Compaq Laptop.
I got over it by removing the bios battery and shorting the contacts.
This cleared the bios back to default settings.

If u dont want to open it up .... you could try this utility :
http://www.utilitygeek.com/details.php?fileid=82
assuming the Toshiba has a floppy drive of course.

You may find the battery socket under the keyboard.
Most laptops save the password in the flash memory so removing the CMOS battery would not do any good.

Cheers Van Nugent.. so is there any way i can do this then... Is there any way i can wipe the flash memoery.. or anything i can do.. iv already taken it apart and tried a few things,,, What would the bat look like in a lap top,,,is it the same as a PC'z round one?
Cheers guys...

Normally, the CMOS battery for laptops is the same as the one used for desktops. I don't know how Toshiba laptops work. For some laptops, you can use a "master" password from the laptop makers to override the current password and for others, you'll need to contact technical service folks.

have you had any luck with this yet m8.
Sorry I ain't got back to you as the files I've got are in work and I'm off at the moment.
The CMOS battery for the lappy should be a flat 3 cell (looks like 3 peas in a pod) battery, with 2 wires and small 3 pin connector.
If you don't have any joy by Monday - mail me through my profile and we'll take it from there.
Cheers

I said earlier that most laptops save the password in the flash memory so removing the battery doesn't help. You need to use a master password or to contact the customer service.

Did you just try tryping in "Toshiba"? Thats sometimes the master password.

If all else fails, you may have to clear the BIOS password by resetting the RTC (Real Time Clock) IC (Integrated Circuit) on your motherboard.
Many RTC's require an external battery. If your RTC is one of this type, you can clear the BIOS password just by unsocketing the RTC and reseating it.
RTC's which require external batteries include:
Dallas Semiconductor DS12885S (http://pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/DS12885-DS12885T.pdf)
TI benchmarq bq3258S (http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq3285.pdf)
Motorola MC146818AP
Hitachi HD146818AP
Samsung KS82C6818A
Most RTC chips with integrated batteries can be reset to clear the BIOS password by shorting two pins together for a few seconds.
You will see more than one option for some chips due to testing by various people in the field. Remember to remove power from the system before shorting these pins.
RTC ChipPins Dallas DS1287A
TI benchmarq bp3287AMT (http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq3287a.pdf)3 (N.C.) and 21 (NC/RCL) Chips & Technologies P82C20612 (GND) and 32 (5V)
-or-
74 (GND) and 75 (5V) OPTi F82C2063 and 26 Dallas Semiconductor DS12887A (http://pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/DS12887A.pdf)3 (N.C.) and 21 (RCLR) You should be able to discover how to reset the BIOS password stored in most RTC (Real Time Clock) chips by reading the manufacturers data sheet for that RTC. Some RTC's, like the Dallas DS1287 and TI benchmarq bq3287mt cannot be cleared. The solution to resetting the BIOS password on systems with those RTC's is to purchase a replacement RTC chip. How inconvenient!

Resetting a Toshiba BIOS Password
KeyDisk (http://www.cgsecurity.org/keydisk.exe) will reset the BIOS password on Toshiba laptops.
Most Toshiba laptops can be convinced to boot without their power-on BIOS password by attaching a dongle to the serial port which crosses a number of the pins. The pin out is: Pins 1-5-10 2-11 3-17 4-12 6-16 7-13 8-14 9-15 Some Toshiba's can be convinced to bypass the startup BIOS password if you hold down the <LEFT-SHIFT> key while booting the system.

Whoa calm down Neo - that's what I thought I was doing. I posted the info I had.
No private emailing going going on m8. I asked to be emailed as a reminder for me to get back on the forum as I check my mail more often than I log on here (1st time I've logged on this week)
Any luck with this yet Turkish G ?
