Ok here goes...

I have soft modded my xbox , Im not sure what with, I have evolution x as a dash and something to do with pheonix on it, but the pheonix screen is garbled. I dont use xbox live.

I have read a few totorials on how to backup games to a dvdr. Some say use craxation or xiso and there are a few others i have found. Which is the best and easiest?

Do i need to patch any of the backups I make?

What is clock loop? Can it damage my xbox?

Whats a xbe?

I have a backup of Starsky and hutch but it keeps crashing when the game saves, is it something to do with the softmod?

:wavey:

1.I used to use craxtion but nimbles and smokafatty have got me hooked on a proggie named qwix.

2. Patching depends on the BIOS that you are running, but I patch my games anyway to avoid errors. Never hurts. :D

3. Clock Loop is when your xbox's internal clock has been reset and is stuck on a certain time, until it finally gets the correct time. Leaving it on for a couple of hours has solved this sometimes. Certain games will not run if the time and date are not correct.

4. xbe is an xbox executable file, exe file would be the pc counterpart.

5.Might be the clock if it is looping. Might be caused if this is from a release group as they sometimes rip things that are required.Need more info, are you running this game from disk or HDD. If from disk what media are you using?

Thanks for the great answers to my questions. I have had ago with qwiz this morning. After a couple of cockups I made a backup. I had already ripped the game to my pc so i used qwix to first patch the game and then made a iso, but it seems I can directly ftp the game with qwiz and make a iso all at the same time. Is that correct? Will it ask to be patched?

The Starsky and hutch game is a dl that i burnt to dvd, I think it is ntsc.
I use ritek G04 media burnt at 2x.

I have one end of a crossover cable with the wires joined together plugged in the back of the xbox which is supposed to stop clock loop, will it?

Your screen is "garbled" most likely because you have a focus chip. Pheniox bios loader does not support it. Mo biggie though.
