I bought A Panasonic DVD recorder from Avland on the 30 Sept 2004 and i appear to be having some trouble with the machine now. It wont record programmes that have been set on the timer ( but used too), it goes to record but then says to check the disk for problems but will record on the disc if i take it off timer. The machine aslo seems to not be deleting things properly for dvd's. If i record something for say 2 hours on sp mode then delete it its says on the functions screen that disk space used. 0:00 but across from it says available 0:00. It used to be fine when i deleted anything before and the disk space available would return. Please advise on what to do next or if there is anyway to fix this problem.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried a new DVD-RAM disk .... it sounds like the disk is bad.
.... or just tot test it, try a DVD-R

Datawrite Reds were known for being troublesome on PC DVD Recorders, so it's fair to assume they may not be the best for the Panny either.

Try grabbing a better quality disk ..... and see if this helps.

ive seen a nice sony model that i,ll think i will invest me cash in.
