Never checked out this sticky until now ... so thought I'd add some US links to complement your UK links. ;)

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) (http://www.bbb.org/alerts/Computer.asp) has some useful tips for online shoppers and also allows you to look up the consumer history record on most businesses.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) (http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/menu-internet.htm) has a wealth of info on safe online shopping and how to spot a scam.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) (http://www.consumer.gov/yourmoney.htm) also has plenty of info regarding safe online shopping.

hmm u c if these rules quite funny cus each hight street company seem to have their own legal team that find the loop holes in these rights and always seem to give u the answer of- 'we have to send it off for repairs'

prime example: printer bought from pc world- burning smell while printing after 4 months- still under warranty: RESULT: 'we'll send it off'
