I have a PS2 with a Magic 3 chip installed.
I want to play online games, but although everything is set up correctly, when I try to connect to the server I get an error message >
DNAS failed to authenticate (error (-402).
This I am told by the PS2 online gaming care line is because the PS2 is chipped, and the server can tell.
Is this right & is there anyway of working round it.
When I do a diagnostic test on the connection it authenticates everything, ping / DNAS / etc. Its only when I try to play a game that I get the error message.
Help please.

turn the ps2 on holding the reset button for 5 sec to disable thechip and you will be able to play origonals online , if you want to play backups online you will need to patch them .

hi
sorry to jump on your thread but is it easy to patch them and is it true that there are other places you can play backups on line?
