Alright, I posted before about buying a new hard drive. Now the old hd has a slower rpm than the new one, if i put the new one as the slave drive, would it limit its speed to the older one's rpm?
Also, the old hard drive has WINME installed on it. Is it possible to install Windows XP on the new drive in NTFS and still be able to transfer files from both drives as WinME is FAT32?
Thanks

The answer to the first question would be no, as long as your motherboard supports it.
You should still be able to transfer files from one OS to another no matter what the file system, ie. NTFS vs FAT32.

I thought winme didn't read ntfs? That means transferring to XP from Me would be fine, but transferring from XP to ME would be out.

My understanding is that ME or W98 cannot read/access an NTFS partition ... i.e. if you had a partition or seperate HDD formatted in NTFS then you wouldn't be able to read it from ME or W98.
You shouldn't have any problem switching files between the 2 though, as long as you did it from XP as this will read/access both FAT32 & NTFS.
