Hi

I've never had any problems with soldering inthe past, have fitted both my xbox & ps2 chip with no problems.

However, when I've come to fit the GC chip, I can't get the solder to stick on the black connector- it just runs off as if it was plastic or something.

I've used flux and tried scra ping the top of the connection with a blade but still won't stick.

Ha anyone had a similar problem?

Does anyone have ay suggestions about how I can overcome this?

Thanks in advance

Your soldering iron probable isn't hot enough. The black wire goes to ground; since the total area of ground is fairly large it's probable acting like a heat sink and drawing the heat away before the solder can melt.

Also try a fibreglass pen on the area to be soldered. If there is any laquer etc on it that'll shift it.
