i have this ancient computer:
hp8650
intel celeron 550hz
hd-40gb
320mb ram
11mb agp graphics card

sorry if this is a bit sketchy but how much would it cost to upgrade to something a bit more up to date, not worried about gaming just a bit more speed memory etc.

I'm going to move this to the Open to All Computer Related Topics forum where you'll surely get more help.

Cheaper to get a new computer with XP.

Office Depot always has something for around $250 after rebates. Its usually 2.4ghz to 2.8ghz.

IMO you would be throwing good money after bad, if you try upgrading. The HP is just too old and will be difficult to upgrade, because they make them that way ;)

As mentioned above .... you really need to start afresh, with a new box.

P.S. If you're running XP with 32mb RAM, it must run like a snail

Yeah, how would you fit a new board in a HP? Youd probably have to buy a board from HP & that's gonna be expensive.
