Right here we go,

My m8 has had his xbox for about a year now however, only until a couple of weeks ago its started coming up with cannot create new track maximum 100 tracks have been reached or something like that when he goes through his normal routine to boot a game.

just wondering if anyone can help, and shed any light on this problem until then he's stuck without being able to go on it...

cheers

thanks in advance

Your friend is running a really old softmod. Tell him to look into the newer softmods where there is no "routine" to boot games. The mod is called UXE, search the xbox-scene forums for it.

Or check the sticky on using ltools.

as said above uxe is the way to go. but to answer your question about the 100 tracks error. he has most likely played a game that is live enabled, therefore it has upgraded his dashboard from 4920 to a higher version

If your buddy has FTP access to his xbox, then it is super simple to fix. Find the UXE complete package on xbins and simply replace the C: drive on his xbox with the files that are provided in the package.

well its not quite as simple as big steel makes out. as you need a network card in the pc, you also need to get a gamesave from xbins as well as the original game that goes with the gamesave. ie. splintercell/mechassault/007 agent under fire (must be original and not a platinum or classics edition). a memory card for transferring the gamesave to the xbox and also an already modded xbox for getting the gamesave onto the memory card in the first place. so if he has these items then sure it is easy as long as you know how to get on xbins and how to connect to the xbox through ftp. i also notice no mention of backing anything up, so if it all goes pear shaped then you pretty much f***** :bawling: so dont go jumping in until your sure you got it right. bit like saying fixing a car is easy for a mechanic as long as he has the right tools and tutoring :insane:

if you need any more help feel free to ask.

Hi m8,
I fully understand what you mean, I don't really want to touch it as if anything goes tits up I will be putting my hand in me pocket for a new xbox. Thanks for all the help I've decided to get it sent off to someone who knows what they are doing hehe.

cheers again,

Sammy, if he already has FTP access then he does not need the original game and game save etc. Those are used to gain FTP access, which I am assuming he already has. Yes, he should definetly backup the c: drive and EEPROM etc. But, all he would need to do is replace the current contents of his C: drive with the contents from the uxe-complete pkg.

How can he possibly have ftp access if hes getting the 100 tracks error/ he cannot even get it to the evox screen and if he could he would not have to post this error in the first place
