View Full Version : Dolby Virtual Surround - anyone use it?

my new TV comes tommorow and it has "Dolby Virtual Surround"
I've never heard what this is like before, anone have any opinions on it?
is it good/bad?

I've got a Sony with virtual surround sound but I must admit I have NEVER tried it because I have a seperate 6.1 setup.
I'll give it a go and report back!

my last tv had dolby pro logic and sounded great, packed in on me so i got a new tv with Dolby Virtual Surround, and am very dissapointed. gonna get a proper surround sound system to plug into it when i've got enough dosh.

what is the pointof 6.1 if all the dvd movies that come out only support 5.1?

Dolby Virtual Surround is just a Virtual Surround, with 2 built in speakers, trys to trick you in thinking theres 4 speakers connected, however does not do a good job,

if you want proper surround invest in a amp and 5 or 6 speakers.

They don't....many now have DTS-ES and DD-EX which are 6.1
