Hi,
I bought a new USB keyboard and when I plugged it into Windows XP it says USB device cannot be recognized, but I thought it would automatically start working without drivers as it is USB.
I don't have any drivers for it and i can't find any on the internet. The keyboard make is Microsol.
Thanks
Kev

Do you have service pack 1 or 2 installed? Check in device manager and see if there are any ? or ! in the usb device section. If so its because those service packs arent installed. If you have the service pack installed try removing the device from device manager and refresh.

Are you plugging it in the Front USBs?? If you are it sounds like they are wired up wrong!

If that was the case it would not even recognise that there was a device plugged in. Try plugging it into a different computer if it still doesn't work send it back you shouldn't need drivers for most usb keyboards (unless it does something out of the ordinary)

It can be detected if wired up wrong! I build computers for a living! If you put the + & - around the wrong way!
