I am led to believe this is a dialer, and it refuses to be deleted-get the message that it is being used by another person or program.
thanks

Start in DOS Prompt and delete it from there.

You could first try Safe-Mode, or use a third party cleaner
www.moosoft.com
www.bitdefender.com (choose Home and then Online scan)

i believe its a porn dialer. You visiting dodgy sites?

boot in safe mode

goto dos promt and navigate to the folder where it lies

now try del cmb_243461.exe or whatever the filename is

if this doesn't work then try del *.*/p ( very important you put the /p switch on or you'll wipe the whole directory out )

what this does is ask for confirmation of every file deletion nestled inside the dir. just hit N until the one you want appears then hit Y.

I have deleted many a stubborn file this way. hope it works for you mate

Obviously you've been going somewhere you shouldn't have. ;) Perhaps you have other problems lurking that you're not even aware of. Go HERE (http://www.dvdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7018) and start with Ad-Aware, then Spybot, and finish with posting a HijackThis log here. It's much easier to get rid of the whole lot at one time.
