Hi, i just bought a new G rated pci wireless card for my 4 year old destop but i have followed the installation instructions and the computer running XP prof will not even see the card in the PCI slot. It says on the card instructions that it has to be 32bit pci slot, i am assuming all pci slots are 32bit!!!!
I tested all the pci slots with an old modem i had and i know they are working as each slot recognised the modem.
Any ideas, i think the card may be faulty!!!!!

I know there are 32 and 64 bit slots, and i'm pretty sure older boards had 16 bit slots. be worth it to check your mobo manual, before returning the card.

BTW, 64 bit cards are normally only found in server motherboards, so that shouldn't be a problem.
