If its overheating it'll turn off... Lots of answers for this!

If its just seizing up then it sounds like the laser is having difficulty reading the disc. When it seizes up can you still hear the disc spinning/laser seeking/clicking?

It's either overheating or your laser is wearing out on ya. Have you tried cleaning the unit out?
