View Full Version : Mapping network drive with ser-u

Ok i have serv-u running on my p4 and i have a drive on my p3 i want to share through serv-u, now the problem is i have mapped the drive i have put shortcuts to it in the home directory and nothing the closest i have gotten was to get the shortcut to show up in the ftp in the homedirectory but when you click on it its empty??? and i have set up uploading and it wont let me upload into anything but the home directory.
Now i have set serv-u up on the p3 and ran it the other way around and mapped folders and such from the p4 onto the p3 and it works?? so why wont it work on the p4?
All i want is to map the drives from the p3 so that the p4 will use them with serv-u, as of right now i can have them mapped and enter the mno problem with windows explorer but with serv-u its either nothing there or a fodler named (the name i want it) and its empty...please please help me as im on my last straw and have no one else to ask.
Oh and im on a router as well.

hey socko, make a post in the forum and test area so we can transfer your status and post count. Oh is serv-u an ftp client?

Where do i do this? i dont see a test section?....damn these panther like reflexes, so fast my eyes cant keep up with them.....
Oh and yes serv-u is an ftp client :)

Try using wsftp pro, btw. Never heard of serv-u.

Oh ok, thanks guy ;), ummm the ftp serv-u isnt ment to be used to download stuff, its a server so other people can download off my comp so i dont think wsftp would work but thanks for the try :wavey:

Are you able to access your P3 shares from your P4 outside of Serv-U (from My Computer)?

Yes, i can do all the normal things outside of serv-u, now my buddy told me that it might have somthing to do with the shares permissions from the p3, right click on the drive and pick shares and security bla bla but i dont know how to set it up to work with serv-u.
