Hiya,

I have just bought a new xbox, since my two sisters have claimed my old xbox and won't let me have it back.

Due the the whole xmas sage with xbox's apparently that no-one had predicted, erm hello wake up people, I wasn't able to buy a new one, I ended going of to the old trusty ebay and bought a box eventually an hour ago.

It comes without mods but I noticed that there seems to be a lot of modded systems etc online and they are retailing quiet well and for a few hundred £££.

I would also like to know of any suggestions of components to use etc. and any companies that provide these are services such as modding if i get to scared.

Regards

Wayne

why not look at soft modding? see link below. it really is easy, although im not sure i should be saying this in the modchip section.its amazing what people charge just to soft mod. I recently looked in my local paper and there was people advertising to "enable your xbox to play imports etc" and it said without out invalidating your warranty. i.e soft modding...The thing is they were charging £50, and there was me thinking dick turpin wore a mask!!!!

Softmods are great in general for ease of use and speed, however, if you want to use a hardware mod, it isn't as bad as it seems. Are you confident in soldering or have some experience to go by? Practicing up on some old boards will improve your skill greatly. Installation is always scary at first because you are dealing with a working unit that you don't want to screw up. However, if you are confident in your abilities and take the time to go through install tutorials, you should have no problem installing a chip or alternatively, flashing your TSOP (If your board has one).
