£230 Budget - What Digital Camera do you recommend?

Anyone got any suggestions please? I have a Canon Ixus Digital Mark One and am looking to upgrade. The Ixus i5 takes my fancy, but can anyone suggest something better?

If you can stretch just a bit more, the Fuji S7000 is brilliant. I bought one from jessops at weekend for £285 (They price matched with LX direct with an online 10% discount). Ebuyer are doing them at £258 I think. The reason I chose Jessops was that I got the Jessops 3 year warranty for £35 + 50 digital prints as well. Top camera with 6.1M Pixels (Also outputs at 12M).


If the S5500 is what you can afford I don't think you'll be dissappointed - go into a local Jessops and sk for a demo.

Olympus C770 Ultra Zoom at about £230 is very nice and has 10x optical zoom

4 Megapixels is great unless you want A3 size (11 inch by 16 inch) prints
and you will get more pictures on your memory cards.

Also takes MPEG4 movies with sound.

Very sound (metal) camera construction and the Olympus Ultra Zoom system is up with the best!

i bought the sony 7mp dsc p-200 at £250inc p&p two weeks ago.makes my missus ixus look silly
