i got my pioneer 108, latest nero, and some DataSafe 8x DVD-R.

firstly will nero disc copy be ok to copy the disks? and will the media be ok to work in the xbox?

any advice much appreciated - really dont wanna create a load of coasters.

I have had success doing disc to disc copies of some games while other will not copy correctly at all, it's hit or miss. The only sure fire method I ahve found of making a copy would be one of the following:

procedure 1

1- copy the backup to the xbox hd
2- ftp into the xbox and copy the files to the pc.
3- use craxtion to make an iso from the files
4- burn with nero (track at once closed)

procedure 2

1- get xiso and install it on your comp
2- put the backup in your dvd writer
3- open xiso and use it to extract the game files from the disc
4- use craxtion to make the game files into an iso
5- burn the iso with nero (track at once closed)

I use the methods below, although if they dont work for you then tre's def will. i just find these methods quicker

method 1 ( only for copied discs )

1- get yourself a copy of dvd decrypter ( freeware )
2- Just create an iso as you would with any other disc, saving to hd
3- burn ( lowest speed preferably )

method 2 ( for backing up originals )

1- install avalaunch on xbox
2- install qwix on pc
3- boot into avalaunch
4- go into qwix and select create iso, then click the ftp
5- navigate to whatever partition you like depending on where you have games. normally will be d:\ but you may have some installed on hd that you want to backup.
5 - click on create iso, will then ask for save location.
6- sit back and relax while it automatically converts the d:\ into an iso ( on the fly if you like )
7- burn iso

Just some clarifications
Method 1 is for copying already backed up xbox games. Method 2 would create the backup the quickest as avalaunch + qwix will transfer games to your pc quicker than any other app.
