In a word no! :D

Really, really poor quality in fact. OC-Freak did a test on the new LiteOn 8X DVDRW burner CDFreaks recently and the graphs from movies burned on this media was shocking. With quality media being so cheap now there is no excuse, not even for me, to use anything other than good media. I paid only £9.99 for 25 Arita Ritek G03 discs at SVP the other day so there are still bargains to be had if you don't mind using 1/2 X media and even G04 4X Ritek's can now be had for less that 50p a disc.

Moving to Media forum for you............

Now you know why he gave them to you. Since you already have them you might as well give them a shot. The deal with Datawrite and Bulqpaq is that the quality is all over the place. Some batches are fine and others have all sorts of issues (ie not being able to burn past 3.5-4GB point). So that is why they aren't recommended. As mentioned above there isn't much difference in price between quality media and cheap media now, so why take the gamble.

Yep I've used about 20 out of a 25 spindle and they have all behaved well at 4 X.

It's strange but I've never, ever had a problem with AN31/Infosmart media (same as the Reds). But everyone else seems to. I've run test after test after test and can't get mine to show any signs of being badly burned. Some of them make a bit of a racket in some DVD players but they all play in all but the pickiest of machines. Curious.

In general though, the fact they have a Datawrite badge is crime enough -- you don't know if they're a good batch or not because e-net are unfussy, and that's the nice way of saying it.

As I have said before though, even with Riteks you should be careful what you buy. The very cheapest ones are often no good, but stick with an official Ritek brand (Ritek, Ridata, Arita, Traxdata etc) and you should be OK.

As for OC's test with the Reds and the LiteOn burner, that's largely the writer's fault -- the LiteOns aren't particularly good burners with any media. The NEC2500A results with the Reds were quite good ( http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/134/7 ), in line with the kind of results I usually get with these discs.

I have burned at least 200 Unbranded Ritek/Ridata discs without a hitch myself.
