Problem connecting to internet via network

I have zone alarm installed on the computer connected to the net. Im trying to browse the internet using another computer which is connected to it. the computer connects through a hub which has an xbox connected as well. Its strange because MSN messenger connects to the net but not the browser.

if you shut down zone alarm on the main PC will the remote PC connect to the net then ?
