computer lock up and beeps when caps lock is pressed..

hi,

whenever i press the caps lock button on the keyboard, the computer just locks up and continuosly beeps causing me to reboot. it also beeps on starting up the computer, i dont know what is wrong, its very annoying and i cant use my computer properly. ive tried other keyboards and i still get the same problem.

Sounds like the keyboard port is messed up. Either try a keyboard with a usb connector or remove the keyboard from device manager and have windows reinstall the driver.

Remove any Typematic rate settings from the BIOS. Typematic rate is known as a repeat rate which sometime causes this kind of problem. I have Xp'ed this before with Win XP Pro and a Samsung MMX Keyboard.
