xbox frag problem :(

ive installed an xecuter 2.6 in my ver 1.6b box.

ive flashed the chip with m8_16 but it just frags but original bios works if i turn off the mod on the external switch.

any ideas lads as the solderings mint on it.

did you do the wire install by chance, because I got the same problem on the wire install. Everything I read suggests that the pin header install should work right. I just wish I had some spare pin headers right now

no m8, i used the pin header install along with the lpc rebuild pcb.

ive got a spiderchip here also so i'll remove the x2.6 & try that

but anyother info is welcome :)

You should use m8_16 plus

What size bios did you use?

i tried m8plus (well i think thats was the one) & i used a 512 bios.

the plus version is specifically for chip users that have a 1.6B sound like you did that right did you try flashing the second bank also you dont have to make a disk image for the bios disk AFAIK you just place bios on a disk with a dummy file in iso9660 format did you make your disk like that?

Also if you soldered correctly and to all the right spots then the chip might be bad if you followed all the other steps correctly

i used a programmer m8.

the bin writes to the chip & verifys fine.

i'll have another go at it in a bit & see what happens.

took the 2.6 out & fired the spiderchip back in & still didnt work but then i got a hold of another bios & it now boots mint.

i recon the first m8+16 wasnt really the + unless theres 2 of them also as when i loaded the newst one i got it booted straight away with the red evox sheild & a blue X.
