That's a very good question and one that I do not have the answer for.
All of a sudden a lot of the motherboards are being labelled as "Ultra ATX".
I've searched and could find no definitive answers denoting the differences between "ATX" and "Ultra ATX".
I do know for a fact that the same cases are being used for both as there are no "Ultra ATX" cases.

Are you sure you're not mixing up the title of whatever you're looking at? Like one of my motherboards for example is a "Soyo DRAGON Ultra ATX motherboard". Meaning it's made by Soyo, it's the "Dragon Ultra" model, and it's an ATX style motherboard. Another example is the "NVidia nForce2 Ultra ATX". "nForce2 Ultra" is just part of the model.
"Ultra" is just part of the model name, it doesn't really mean it's a new kind of ATX. It's mostly just the new marketing catch word, like "Turbo", or "Hyper", etc.

There is a new form factor coming out, MicroMart mentions it in this week mag (cannot remember what it's called). Is designed for better heat dissipation i.e. processor away from memory etc.

Qwerty that would make a whole lot of sense, either that or my head has been stuck up somewhere for a while and I've completely missed a new form factor. It just seemed a bit unusual that almost everyone is suddenly exploiting the same word, "Ultra". It appears in almost every motherboard description these days.
Thanks for your valued input. You have just reassured me that I haven't lost a step.
