With Telewest its very simple, almost any wireless router would do it, we supplied many Origo brand (they are avaiable from eBuyer or Scan) and they work well.
As to how many cards are needed, all wireless router (not to confused with WAP for Wireless Access Point) have 1 or 4 RJ45 socket for a direct PC connection, so the PC next to the router just need a normal network card and a CAT-5 cable, the second unit away from the router need an Wireless PCI card or USB or PCMCIA unit.
Set the SSID and encryption on the router, do the same on the PC and you are connected.

54 will be sufficient, however I'd avoid the Belkin as they've been known to drop connections.

I'd get a rebadged Origo from ebuyer, which is their value priced wireless router. Otherwise you might want to consider a Netgear or Linksys depending upon the price, which will be considerably more expensive.
have searched ebuyer and scan cant find an origo is that the actual make(name) either they r out of stock or i am not searching properly any links ??

That'll work fine, and it's the cheapest one they have at Ebuyer. :) I'd stay away from the USB ones.
