hi,

i used slayers auto installer,

i rebuilt the retail hardrive, also installed evox, and all the apps with slayers disc.

however my xbox still boots the MS dashboard?

also i cant see the apps i installed either with slayers?

it just boots up like the origanal xbox?

i have a lpc chip so i checked chip bios info on slayers disc and it said: "bios on chip evolutionx 2.2" if that helps?
anyone know what the problem is?

thanx

find a way to ftp into your xbox. Rename xboxdash.xbe to something else, then put evox default.xbe on C:/ and rename it to xboxdash.xbe, after that, put evox.ini aswell on C:/.

Evox should be your startup dashboard from now on.

I had the same problem with mine so i took it to my m8 that allso have a xbox.
He took his harddrive out of his console and put it in mine, then he tried to boot it.
Ofcourse it didnt boo like it should with his harddrive in it and i sat there like a big questionmark asking what the f*** he was doing.
He told me to relax, then he took his harddrive out of my xbox and replaced with my own harddrive.....
He then powered my console up and everything worked like it should.....
I asked again what he did and why it was working again but he didnt want to explain it to me.
"You wont understand it anyway" he said. :)
So im still sitting here like a dumba$$ knowing nothing about what he really did but at least i have a working xbox.....

If you have a m8 with a xbox nearby then i suggest that you try the same, after all you cant do it any worse than it is.

yep i had the problem before and this sorted it.
remember to rename the original xboxdash.xbe to something else you remember (mine is msxboxdash.xbe) and then edit the evox.ini file and find where it says MSDASHBOARD. Type in what you renamed the original dashboard to and you can now access the original dash from the evox dash if you so wish.

well i tryed to use my cable modem cable from the xbox to the pc,

however both ends same color wire, they are the same so i guess its not a crossover cable, which means it wont work.

but is there anyway of converting this cable or making my own cable?

You cross 2,4 with 1,3 - if you don't know what I mean then just get a crossover cable from somewhere.

You need to get Boxplorer on a DVD. This will allow you, I think, to change the default dash.
