At first, i got me a Sony 8x burner for 219 bucks but it give me a coaster while burning my DVD movies on an Apple 4x DVD-R disk so i then decided to return it back for a refund and wait for the 16x DVD burner to release but then i saw this Emprex DVD burner (4x write/2x rewrite/6x read r/rw/12x read dvd-rom) for only $99 bucks! It was at $79.99 but for some reason, Fry's raise the price back to $99 again. So far, It's a very great burner, It read and write every DVD-R/DVD+r and rw disk i put it, Ritek G03/G04 both works, Apple work, Maxell work, GQ DVD-RW also works.
the only problem that i have with this burner is it doesn't work with PrimoDVD, always give me that no dvd recorders found, and i have also try to update to the latest px engine but still same meassage. I also heard that this burner is a rebadge of BTC dvd burner. If you want to go for a cheap DVD Dual format burner, try this one, it's affordable and realiable. you can also get the 8x emprex dvd burner for $129.99 at fry's.
