View Full Version : DVDShrink 3.1...guide for it?

I've used 2.3 forever and am very comfy using it. I use that version then just CloneDVD to burn the movie and that's it. It's simple (like me) and effective for me as I don't have the time to really get into the complexities of any other ways of doing this.:insane:

That being said, I've d/l'ed the version 3.1 and went to their website to read their tutorial and I'll be damned if I can get it to work.:bawling:

Does anyone here have a walkthrough on this in precise detail please?

Many thanks,

Merc.:wavey:

Thanks but as I said, I've already done that...must be something I'm doing because I've already followed that tutorial and it wants me to burn with Nero and again, as I said, I use CloneDVD.

If I'm absolutely forced into using Nero then I'll just stick with the 2.3 version of DVDShrink.

Yeah you would either have to disable the feature or simply not have Nero on your PC. You can link it to DVD Decrypter now if you would like.

Thank guys, can't believe it was something so silly but nimbles advice seems to have worked. :)

I guess the makers of DVDShrink assumed we'd all be using Nero?

or DVD Decrypter. I don't have Nero (I have never had good luck with any of their software) but I do have DVD Decrypter. I just have never gotten around to linking the two together. I still burn it the old fashioned way with RNM.

I hear what you're saying about Nero, never liked that software. Last used it way back on the PSX scene.

I can use RNM just fine for Xbox and PS2 dvdr's, but for some reason I just can't use it for movies (my dvd player(s) won't read them). So I've found that CloneDVD works perfectly for my particular setup.

Thanks again all.

"dude, go to edit -> preferences -> pick the "file i/o" tab, and uncheck the "enable burning with nero" box"

I don't get that box, but a drop down arrow that lets you select where you want your files to be. Not sure what version that is.

yeah i can't work out where the decrypter option is either that everyone is talking about:confused:. methinks there are different versions of the dvdshrink at the different mirrors

I'm using v. 3.1.7.6.

The option is only available when in the Back Up menu and you select "ISO Image" as the Target Device, then the little box appears (lower left) "Lanch DVD Decrpter to burn output image"

As Phil indicates all 3.1.7 versions have the DVD Decrypter burn option.

A new guide based on this should be posted in the DVD tutorials section tomorrow all things being well. ;)
