Well the problem is that i inserted a 256mb ram into my computer but the ram only showed up as 128mb, at first i thought it was the ram that was faulty so i tried a 512mb one but even that showed up as 128mb.

I then checked the computer to see what type of memory it can handle with sisoft sandra, and it displayed 128mb/ slot.

So does this mean i can only put in 128mb in a slot. Is there a way to put in a higher amount? Should i change my motherboard?

Please help

All help appreciated

thanks

I'd say it can't handle anymore. you can check for a bios update, but i doubt if it would help that. your mobo specs and model would help as well.

Well, the above won't help much. As said by nightheart, if it's not designed for more than 128mb/ slot; nothing can be done. Even the BIOS update will fail.
