Hey guys.

I have a problem. A certain site is blocking my ip. I must get around this.
What I want to do is actually be able to go to a net ip detection (like www.whatismyip.com) and for it not to be able to see my usuall WAN address. Then I know its worked.

I have a LINKSYS BEFSR41.

My ISP ip address is something like (this is fake): 82.33.216.107
But when the router is in it says the address is : 82.33.245.9
This is what shows up when I check my ip...Is there anyway I can change this (which I believe is wan address?)... or change the last digits. The router must stay.

This is causing me such grief... please help.
:bawling:

About the only thing you can do is use an anonymous proxy server to access the site that your IP is blocked at. I do hope that you don't plan on causing any trouble at that site though.

hi...no i wouldn't dream of causing trouble..It concerned registering multiple accounts at hotmail.co.uk... A few other people say they were blocked also. (from using .com .co.uk and MSN). Only the routers wan ip was being blocked, because i could get on perfectly without it. (problem was getting rid of it wasnt an option)...Then I buggered the whole router by changing the address and forgetting how to get back into the settings because the ip had changed and it wouldnt connect at all, to any site... So I stuck a paper clip into the reset button on the router, changing back to factory settings...and now I can get back on. Very strange...(I havent attempted to use those email addys I reg'd)

A lot of peeps are confused to whether this was an attempt to block the ip or coincidental maintenance on the msn network site...

Hmmm... Rather hard to tell, but I'd guess that they were blocking anyone with the same IP address. However in the UK that is next to impossible. So perhaps it was just a glitch with MSN. I have a feeling that the truth will come out shortly. ;)
