I have a modded v1.1 Xbox that's installed with Aladdin XT. It's been working great, but now I want to trade it with someone else who wants to play it on Xbox Live. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Thing is, I don't have broadband, so I'm not sure about this. Does pressing the power button once(which leads the eject LED to turn green and the Xbox to boot to the MS dashboard) mean that the Aladdin XT has been disabled, and that it can be played on Xbox Live without any risk of being banned? http://forums.xbox-scene.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif

Also, I'm confused on the whole unlocked/locked thing. I locked the hard disk using the EvoX disk, and now it boots to the MS dashboard when I tap on the power button. Does this mean the hard disk is always locked, even when I hold down the power button and it boots to the EvoX dashboard? I'm confused... http://forums.xbox-scene.com/html/emoticons/blink.gif

If the wires are hooked up properly, that should disable your chip. You can check by trying to run unsigned code. If the chip is off, your hdd is locked, you shouldn't be worried about XBL bannings. As for the locking/unlocking, it's a security feature M$ put in place. A locked hdd will boot up fine when the chip is off. If the chip is off and the hdd is unlocked, you will get an error 5 screen. If you are getting to your dash with the chip off, it's locked.
