Virtual pc : need advice

Need a few answers on virtual pc:

Will virtual pc run windows 98 on a seperate window when running xp as the main operating system? Im asking coz I need windows 98 for a program that isnt compatible with xp so would this work??
and Is it the easyest way of getting round this problem?

Yes it would.

I've never used VMWARE but I've heard good things about it.

in xp if you right click on a program then go to properties then compatability you can select to run it with 95, 98, me, ect.

Maybe I'm stating the obvious but you never know.
