screen size

this may be a silly question but i need my screen size up to 1280 res but in the control panel it only goes up to 1024....
is there any possible way to increase it or will i have to purchase a new screen:insane:

Check your video card and its drivers, normally these are determine by the card first, then the monitor.

Right click on Desktop and select Properties. Go to Settings and click the button Advanced. Now click on adapter page and there you are! You can also access the adapter information via Windows Device Manager.
