Here's an odd one. MY system hard drive (drive C) crashed on me this weekend so I bought a new one and installed XP on it. My old drive had Win2K.

I have 3 other hard drives connected to the IDE cables. Drive D is a FAT32 partition, Drive E is an NTFS partition. I also have one SCSI hard drive partitioned as FAT32 connected to an Adaptec 19160 card but this drive isn't showing up under XP. The card is funtioning properly as Device Manager shows and there is a Yamaha SCSI CD-RW connected to the card as well that works just fine.

I use removable drive bays and I still have a drive that runs Win2K on it. When I use this as my system drive, the SCSI drive shows up just fine in Win2K.

This one has me stumped. Any Ideas?

PS. On the XP side, the drive does not show up under disk management.

If you were running on W2k peviously .... could it simply be the IDE Controller driver needs udating for the Adaptec Card ?

It's a SCSI card, not IDE. But you could be right. I'll go get the latest drivers tonight for XP and give it a shot. Can't imagine though if it was a driver issue why it would see the CD-RW and not the hard drive. I would assume it would be all or nothing.
