For my (very budget) setup, I currently have Logitech Z640 5.1 Speakers connected to my PC, which I use for DVD's
However Im fed up of this now, its annoying having to turn the PC on to watch a DVD and the speakers are a bit crap.
My dad upgrades his system all the time so Ive got some Sony SA-VE705 speakers, which from what I remember, used to sound pretty good. I can get them off him for free or almost free, the only extra cost would be buying an amp.
Thing is, a) these speakers are over 4 years old now and I wondered if maybe they might sound awful nowerdays (even tho they wereused till Feb this year)
and b) Ive looked for reviews on the web and people have given them pretty awful reviews, and that was when they came out.
So just wondering if Id be better off sticking with what ive got or using the Sony speakers? Ud think itd be a no brainer, esp considering the Logitechs are weak, 6W per channel PC speakers, and the Sonys are 50W per channel...but im not sure after seeing them slagged off so much.
Btw im not some audiophile....i like it when stuff sounds good but i wouldnt sit and pretend I can tell a huge amount of difference between similar systems.
