Well I have a version 1.6 xbox in front of me and I used ltools 1.8 I tried uxe so it said I didnt have dashboards installed so I downloaded that and placed them on the HD via memory card along with the original 1.8 installer.(not in the same folder just on the first level inside the udata folder for both)

I performed the backup feature first and waited for about 40min
This give you a backup of your c drive and eeprom and HDkey

Then I selelected the metoo bios loader and evox as the dash and generic fonts. I push the button and the video messed up as I expected the light just gave me a green blink on the power button so I just waited for about 40 mins and I restarted the xbox and boom!!!! everything was working.

I wanted to add a 120GB HD
I have a backup of the evox backup folder with eeprom and I also saw an eeprom in the ltools folder also
I backed up the c and e folders
I was going to made a xboxhdm disk with the above info using the ltools eeprom.bin since I heard that there was problems with the evox eeprom.bin in 1.6 xboxes

I booted up with the disk and hd attached to my pc and then selected create a hd from scratch (all the contents of the c & E folders will be place on the hd)
After that I formatted an f drive and then locked it

Life is good!!! :bouncing: :bigthump: :luxhello: :insane:

There are many auto installers appearing at the moment, but i still consider ltools 1.8 the definitive package.

Recently " Waffletools " has apperared and although i haven't personally used it i would still choose ltools 1.8.
Main reason being that installing the uxe method with ltools 1.8 you have no need to hex edit to get the m$dash back. YES ltools does this for you. Although its pretty simple to do anyway, its just one less thing to worry about when soft modding.

the only major differences between the 2 is that one is live enabled for virgin consoles.

1.75 has ude and 1.8 has uxe but I dont know what the difference between the 2 since the are pretty much the same

They say that if you boot with an original game into the original bios from the off position that you can use live with a softmod but I have a chip in my xbox

I would say try at your own risk a few people say it works though
