How do i convert cdr game to dvdr ??

Tried copying contents of cdr to harddisk and reburning to dvdr but it wont boot.

Any help appreciated

You need a hex editor and knowledge of hex codes, basically the game has cd checks programmed in, you need to find those cd checks and then hex edit them so that they are read as dvd checks, I never really figured it out. That's the process.

In other words, unless you have some skills it can't be done. I have tried doing this with no success. It is easier just to use quality CD-R media and burn at 4x.

I'm curious to know why you'd want to convert a cdr game to a dvdr in the first place? Is the cdr game a full version or is it missing a lot of fmv, etc. from the game so it could fit onto a cdr?

You've obviously got a dvd writer, but I'd just keep the cdr version you have instead. That, or get the full version backed up onto dvdr from an original source. :)

I am guessing it is because of the noise/stress problems people have reported with CD-R. Most people don't realize this can be fixed by burning at the slowest speed (4x). There is a world of difference in sound between my CD-R backups burned at 16x and my CD-R backups burned at 4x. The 16x ones sound like a chainsaw ripping through my PS2 and the 4x ones aren't much louder than my DVD-R backups. As with DVD-R, the media quality also makes a difference.

there is a tutorial at ps2ownz (dvd5rips forums) that shows how to put multilple games on one dvdr. it should work for only one game also.

would this also apply to xploder v4 cheat disk?my son wants to use it but has trouble with cdr games and would like to put it on dvdr.

Just burn it to DVD-R... but if you want it to boot on the PS2 that a whole other deal.

what game you trying to put on dvd-r?

if it's a dvd-rip then you'll need to find the media checks and change them back with a hex editor so the ps2 knows it's a dvd
