I'm sorta new at this stuff. I downloaded a movie, but now I need to burn it. The only problem is that I don't know how to make an image. Can anyone help. Thanx in advance.

What form is the movie in? They usually come as a large number of liles numbered *.r00, *.r01,*.r02.... You need to use a program like WinRar to put the bits back together and it will come out as an image file of some kind - .iso or .bin & .cue. Whichever type it is the image can be burned with the burning program of your choice.
That's as simple as I can make the explanation. hth

what kind of movie? mpeg, mpeg2, avi, dvd, etc?, and is it an image already? if so what type? .iso, .img, .nrg, .bin there are tonnes you're gonna need to give more info
If its mpeg or mpeg 2 and upto 800mb you can burn it as a vcd (mpeg) or svcd (mpeg2) that'll play as a standalone. If it's an avi then unless you want to re-encode it won't play in a standalone- just burn it as a data disc (iso9660 or UDF)
if its a dvd and you have a dvd burner then its pretty likely that you have software that can burn a dvd-video.
I use Nero for all of this (well except for vcd/svcd- I use VCD easy for that)

Well I am assuming (S)VCD as there other post was in the VCD forum. Still does not explain what format the movie is currently in though.

Sorry bout the confussion. I wasn't sure what category this fell under. Well it's a .asf file. I extracted it and it plays fine on windows media player. Now I just need to burn it. I don't know how to make the bin and cue for it.
Well, if you want it to play on a standalone you'll have to reencode it to a different format before you burn it. But that format would depend on the original file and what you want to burn it to (vcd, svcd, dvd, etc)

TMPGEnc should be able to convert it to a VCD compliant mpg. Then just use VCDEasy to create your BIN/CUE.
