New Xbox

I went out and got a new xbox. It has the Samsung dvd drive in. I noticed that the fan in the xbox is louder than my other xbox. IS this normal or should I return it for another xbox. I`m just worried that if I return it I may get an xbox without a samsung in it. Thanx.

well its up to you- you can always drop the fan speed a little by editing a bios in xbtool and reflashing- or even through some dashboards such as avalaunch and unleashx-

i have a samsung drive and it's all well and good me saying this with me having a samsung drive- but i got it when i still didn't have a dvd burner, now i do- i hardly ever burns cd's for it (which is the only advantage). Small games that would fit on a cd, i tend to save up and put in a multi with a big game.

And if you have media on cd you can always just stream it from your pc drive- If your the app supports streaming

I would keep the sammy. Besides cdrs its really good at playing old scratched up discs. Sometimes I'll have an old beat up princo disc that won't read on any of my pc drives, I just put it in my xbox and transfer it over no prob.

You can also edit the fan speed through avalaunch. It has the feature built in.
