My mates old dear had her ex mans friend come round to fix her PC as it was running really slow.

He charged her £175 pound for doing this and i was just wondering what that would get you or what sort of thing i should look for in the machine to justify paying that.

What he seems to have put in is this -
MSI Mainboard ATX - £28
AMD 850 duron - £25
modem - £25

Buts thats all i can seem to see with the boxes he left altho there wasn't a box for the processor but i am guessing he put that in.

What seems to have come out is the old modem and -
Holtek S3trio 3d/2x
The memory is only 56mb so is there anything else to add up to £100 pound i should have a look for??

cheers

I just checked with my dogs long distant cousin's brother's friend and he also said the same as Snatchy, but the £100 could have easily went to labour and call out charges, it really depend on where he had to come from and how long to change the parts over, not forgeting Windows may need to have all the devices drivers re-installed due to new board and chipset.

But the Duron 850 is a give-away, as for that price, you may be looking at a Duron-1400/1600 but these are really trade prices and not retail.

Sorry guys for the confusing start.

My mates mum had her computer fixed/robbed by a friend of her ex boyfriend. There were no call out charges as he told her that he fixed it for nothing as i guess he was doing it as a favour to her ex.

He never left a windows disk there so the remaining £100 is still missing?? so i think he has just diddled her for it as she knows nothing about PC's

But i needed to ask on here incase there was anything that he could have installed that i missed. The PC still doesn't work right
