can someone please tell me the difference in burning an iso with the read function is decrypter and then going to open iso in DVDshrink and compressing compared to reading all of the files separately in decrypter and then opening all files in dvdshrink? Are they exactly the same thing? What are the benefits of each? thanks alot!

There's no difference and for a DVD5 (single layer <4.38GB) you don't need dvdshrink at all-Rip to hd as iso with decrypter- burn iso back to new disc with decrypter, but you don't need to read the files with decrypter in the first place- dvdshrink wil be able to do the encoding with the source on the dvd drive, as it has copy protection removal processes buillt in.
Several of the non-freeware encoders don't have the copy protection removal software, in an attempt to justify their product as being legal. For those programs you usually need to have a video_ts folder rather than an iso, hence the option in decrypter to provide a visto_ts folder

Yes in this area DVD Shrink now really sets itself on another level compared to the chasing pack. No other transcode software gives you so many input/output options right now which is brilliant for us as the end user. :)

Yup. DVD Decrypter in ISO mode for DVD5 movies and then DVD Shrink for anything over the capacity of a DVD-R. The only way I see it being worthwhile to use the two programs in conjunction is if you are using the new feature which allows you to link from DVD Shrink over to DVD Decrypter and have it burn your project in ISO mode for you once it is done. No sense making extra work for yourself when you don't have to.
