I wanted to upgrade my old MATRIX modchip to play on Live without having to open up the xbox and take out the chip each time......any ideas on upgrades that will work for me...
If anyone still remembers the Matrix modchip - I think it was the first one out for the xbox.....Super

The Aladdin chip will work. I have one and to enable the chip, all you do is press the power button for around 3 seconds. If you want to go on live, just turn off your Xbox and hit the power button quickly and the chip isn't enabled.

sounds good - how would i know though if it is definitely not enabled - does it have a color mod, like the old matrix did?
Also, is it solder-less, cause that's definitely what I need.....thanks, Super

You'll know it's not enabled because it'll load the original MS dash instead. I think it does change color tbh. Can't recall because I have a blue led in my power button. I think when it's enabled, the power button turns orange/red/yellow/whatever and when it's not enabled the power button just stays green.
No, it's not solderless. If you need a solderless chip then you'd need an Xecuter chip with switch instead. They run around abouts $52 at the time of this posting.

Thanks Merc, do these things come with a bios installed - all I want to do pretty much is play backups and get on live....I am not upgrading my HD, or anything like that - and I would rather not have to flash the chips and such....Super
